Academic Success Center receives National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) Student Affairs Partnering with Academic Affairs (SAPAA) Promising Practices in Student Affairs and Academic Affairs Collaboration Award
I am delighted to congratulate you and the entire UMBC community on being selected to receive the NASPA Student Affairs Partnering with Academic Affairs (SAPAA) Promising Practices in Student Affairs and Academic Affairs Collaboration award for the Academic Success Center. This is a significant national recognition and a powerful affirmation of UMBC’s commitment to deeply integrated, student-centered collaboration across Academic and Student Affairs.
The selection committee noted that UMBC’s Academic Success Center exemplifies the spirit of this award—demonstrating intentional design, strong cross-divisional partnership, and a clear impact on student success. Your nomination stood out among many strong submissions for its thoughtful, coordinated approach to supporting learners and for the evident collaboration between units.
SAPAA is formally presenting the award at the SAPAA Business Meeting during the NASPA national conference on March 10 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in Kansas City. If a UMBC representative is not available to attend the conference, the committee will happily arrange to send the plaque to the address you designate.
This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Academic Success Center team and to the leadership culture at UMBC that values partnership, innovation, and student success. Congratulations again on this well-deserved honor. It is wonderful to see UMBC recognized nationally for the excellence of its collaborative practices.
Thank you,
