Purpose and Charge of the Advisory Board
The purpose of the Advisory Board is to provide strategic advice and expertise on a broad range of topics to help advance the mission and goals of the Academic Success Center. The formal charge of Advisory Board is to:
- Provide insight and input regarding the Academic Success Center’s mission, goals and strategic plan
- Periodically review current programs and outcomes data provided by the Academic Success Center
- Make recommendations when new programs and/or significant changes to existing programs offered by the Academic Success Center are deemed necessary
- Serve as liaisons between their respective departments/areas and the Academic Success Center to help disseminate information and communications across the campus community to enhance visibility of academic support services
- Serve as liaisons between their respective departments/areas and the Academic Success Center to help gather input from faculty/staff/student in those areas on academic support needs and the effectiveness of the Academic Success Center programs and services
- Serve as an advocate for the Academic Success Center

Membership on Advisory Board
- Members attend once per semester Advisory Board Meetings
- Members serve a 1-year appointment

Advisory Board Chair Responsibilities
- Facilitate Advisory Board communications, planning, agendas and meetings at least once per semester (Fall and Spring)
- Provide staff to take minutes and maintain accurate and up-to-date records
- Contribute to the Advisory Board outcomes through value-driven insights and advice
- Provide pertinent data and reporting to the Advisory Board, upon request, to help inform conversations
- Serve as the liaison between the Advisory Board and the Academic Success Center to share feedback, advice and recommendations
- Communicate with Advisory Board on actions taken based on feedback
- Periodically evaluate Advisory Board structure for effectiveness and best practice
