What are Early Academic Alerts?
Early Academic Alerts are notifications sent directly to students through myUMBC. Alerts notify students who are in danger of receiving a D or F in a certain course and provide them with resources to help them succeed. By alerting students early in the semester, students have the ability to make the necessary changes to improve their grade and become successful in their academic careers.
Instructors may send alerts during the reporting period.
Fall 2024 Reporting Period: September 30, 2024 through October 29, 2024
What Happens If I Get an Alert?
If you get an alert, you will receive a notification on myUMBC with a link to resources to help you succeed. If you need more information, you should contact your professor to talk about your grade. When you visit your advisor, they advisor will also follow up with you about your alert to make sure you are getting the help you need.
If you have any additional questions about Early Academic Alerts, please email eaa@umbc.edu.
